Cracking Netflix’s Category Codes

Written by Gary North on April 9, 2016

I read that Netflix has 76,000 codes of kinds of movies.

Is this possible? Really?

You don’t have time to find most of these categories. Neither do I.

So, Netflix shows us only those few categories that its algorithm thinks we would like to view.

But there are others that we might want to view.

It turns out that you can crack the code, sort of. You can thereby get access to film categories you’ve never heard of.

The article about this is here: http://www.garynorth.com/snip/1226.htm.

It links to articles that offer lists of categories with their Netflix code numbers.

So, give it a try. Spend 30 minutes. See what you find.
