Video: Pelosi Won’t Make Obamacare Central Part of Reelection Campaign

Posted on April 1, 2014

While Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi took an Obamacare victory lap Tuesday afternoon, she appeared hesitant to make the law the central plank in her party’s push to win in 2014, telling reporters that “while we’re proud of the Affordable Care Act, we now pivot to jobs.”

Pelosi appeared in front of the White House to extoll the expected 7 million Obamacare sign-ups the administration reached before the quasi-deadline on March 31. But when a reporter asked the California congresswoman whether this represented “vindication” and a “turning of the tide” on the unpopular law, she stopped short of declaring Obamacare a winning issue.

“Well let me just say, those of us who fought for this knew what we believed in and really don’t think we needed any vindication,” she responded. “We just had to protect it from those ideological anti-government people who didn’t want to see it succeed — for ideological, or political or whatever those reasons are.”

“Taking the heat on something like that — well, that’s what we do,” she bragged. “That’s like, all in a day’s work.”

And regarding Obamacare’s power to help Democrats in 2014?

“We’ll see,” she shrugged. “I think the fight for the election — elections are always about jobs. So I think that while we’re proud of the Affordable Care Act, we now pivot to job creation.”

That's interesting, since Obamacare is inherently a job killer. It makes you wonder what else the left plans to do to undermine our nation? Healthcare that left 6 million Americans at risk after loosing their health insurance, releasing convicted illegal aliens back into the US economy. Unemployment has been at record high levels for 5 years! Now they want to focus on jobs? It's just how the left rolls.

  2. We needed jobs when Obama was first elected. And in his sixth year, we need them more than ever. Every year the President promised his new focus would be on jobs, but he has done nothing but kill jobs. Do not listen to what the man says. He is a snake oil salesman. Watch what he does. He is taking America down with the willing assistance of the power hungry liberal Democrats. See my blog at http://cranky-conservative.blogspot.com

  3. Of course, the only jobs Democrats ever create are Government jobs, which are a net drain on the economy. Not that Republicans are any better, but at least their rhetoric is better.

  4. Not to worry, Nancy. You have a job; you’re independently wealthy; you’re exempt from your own healthcare mandate; and the ignoramuses that put you in office will re-elect you.

  5. Why in the world wouldn't she want to campaign on her record. After all, she nearly singlehandedly got Obamacare passed into law. She should use that success as the jumping off point for everything she campaigns on. I mean, she got something done that the founding fathers could only dream of. Please, Nancy, stand up and take full credit for that singular achievement.

What the hell happened to us? At about a half century old I cannot comprehend how we got here and the complete moratorium on common sense. None of these initiatives obammie puts forward can make any sense because there just lies. I can’t believe that more aren’t offended by the “if you like your healthcare, you can keep it” this is outrageous. He and anyone who supported that stuff should resign; dems or reps. I can’t stand these pricks any longer.

Well, hell. Then I ain't gonna vote for her. Well…MAYBE if she plays-up the queer-thing and how welfare makes more money than it costs. I really like that one–it gets me every time. To cinch the deal, throw in one of those cheesy laughs and some of those crazy looks and that gibberish talk, like when you ain't got a clue and are atryin' to duck them smart questions. Then I'm truly yours, my sweets. And I'll bring along my dog and a couple of dead cousins and vouch for some sports-figures I never once met. Oo-wee, Nancy, you're one classy lady and rat back in office! If I can round-up enough dead cousins and dogs and sports-figures I never once met, maybe you can walk down that there street in D.C. aholdin' that croquet mallet again. Remember that? Aunt Jenny thought it made you look kinda like a silly fool and a real dunce. "Nah, Aunt Jenny," I says, "Kinda makes her look important and REAL sexy. Like she's got on edible under-drawers, or somethin'. Hell! Maybe even an edible thong!" Oo-wee!!!

"We've destroyed your healthcare, now we're going after your jobs. You will soon be dependent on the government for everything."
