Think about this. Over 70 million adult Americans went to the trouble of identifying themselves as gun owners.
This sends a message to Congress: “Don’t mess with our guns.”

Talk about futility. Gun controllers say that they represent the true feelings of Americans on guns. But where is their evidence? How many voters have signed petitions against gun ownership? Not 70 million.
How many Americans registered for background checks under all four years of Bush’s presidency? About 35 million. But the sign-ups are just getting started for Obama. He has over three more years. Will it hit 100 million? Let’s hope so.
The gun controllers have pushed the hot buttons of 70 million Americans. They got the opposite reaction from what they expected.

Hey, and while gun sales have skyrocketed under Obama, would you expect gun homicides to have skyrocketed across America? Well maybe in Chicago with the strictest gun laws in the country, but not where gun rights are honored. In fact, per FBI.gov, gun homicides have DROPPED 18% over the last 5 years. That's not what Democrats want you to know, but it's an inconvenient fact that when people can defend themselves, and when the bad guys know it, there is less crime, murder and mayhem, not more.

Of those 70,000,000 background checks, how many guns were bought with each? There is a maximum of 4 per NICS hit. How many were NEW, First-time gun owners? My personal experience at the range tells me 3 of 4 are new (2012-2013) first-time buyers.

There is another view that should be addressed. The fastest way to take the US off the global stage is to engineer an infrastructure failure that prevents electronic payments. The sad part is , schools are re enforcing the percieved "danger" a gun is. Kids draw pictures and are expelled they chew a pop tart into the shape of a pistol and the teacher goes ballistic. A photo on facebook prompts child welfare and police visits as well as a loss of weapons permit.
The weapons removal will be in a few years if we fail to get the public school systems to leave fire arms to the parents.
I think that the check will be the same – for now. Universal Background Checks only work with gun registration. That has been the history of gun control in the modern world. Every time. Restrictions on some guns – "for the good of the children", then registration, then confiscation, then Dictatorship. Every time, no exception.

There should be a law enforced that everyone who throws his hat into the ring to run for federal government elective office would need a background check starting with President Obama, whose dark past and lack of committment to constiututional democracy is in doubt. Anyone whose license to practice law has been revoked should be disallowed from running for elective office.
