Then he turned things over to FEMA.

Now, some of the residents of New York City are on his case. Where are the promised handouts? Where is FEMA? Where is Uncle Sam?
They live in harm’s way. That means they live where it is cheaper to buy or rent, because of harm. They “took the bet” (bore the risk) and lost.
Now they want compensation from taxpayers. The rest of us owe it to them, they believe.
They have been told this by politicians. They were taught this in tax-funded schools. They believed it.
Now they are outraged. The government has not come to their rescue from a hurricane. They will not take this outrage lying down. The government is God, they think. It can instantly overcome the effects of a hurricane. But it has failed. It is not entitled to fail. These voters will accept no excuses.
This outlook is the end of community. This is the welfare state mentality run wild. This is the social philosophy of “Gimme! You owe it to us! We vote. Your money is our money. Fork it over! We mean right now!”
And yet they voted to continue on the same road with the same man at the helm. What a sad statement on the mental reasoning abilities of the majority of this nation.

You keep electing the same party/person that has promised so much and done so little and this is now going to be different somehow???
How can it be that so many people voted to keep the worst president in history in office? How can it be that so many were more interested in handouts than jobs? How is it that these hurricane victims were not prepared in any way to survive catastrophe? They were completely unprepared even though they had advanced warning. Even though they saw the failure of FEMA during Katrina they believed that someone else would provide for them. How is it that they have not learned that the Federal government always fails at these times. In the West in places like Utah, Montana,& Wyoming we have extra food and water on hand because we know the government can not help during times of emergency. Why is it these people can not do the same and prepare? You live in an area that gets hit by hurricanes on a regular basis. But then again you re-elected Obama so I guess that says it all. I think the 2nd coming is getting close. The days of an America where self reliance was a highly valued attribute are gone. We live in a day where people expect the government to care for them. What this means is when a really big event occurs many will die because uncle Sam will never make it in time.

Before then the Cities, Counties, States took care of our
people and provided for the common defense. Now the government has failed in that and continued to become more and
more bloated with corruption and self serving individuals who managed to get enough money to get elected. The
whole system is a far cry from what the founding fathers had dreamed of and put to paper in the for of the United States
Constitution and our laws. The judges sit on the bench for life and made decisions based upon personal policies rather
than following the Constitution as written. From there the corruption has spread through our society like a cancer and
has remained unchecked because the citizen have failed to stay informed and alert to the spread. That has led us to
this problem we face today. The total loss of our nation to corruption and the dictates of a wannabe dictator in The White House with his minions in congress slobbering to become despots. There are still good men and women in office but
they are being overrun by the lies of the delusional and minions of hades.

Unfortunatley we are all in this together. we must also suffer for thier lack of intelligence and poor decisions. But the good
side is we will not wait for the handout but will continue to work hard and provide for our families regardless of what this

Believe me not everyone who lives in flood zones is begging for FEMA help. In parts of NYC ravaged by sandy, the community has come together and helped each other despite FEMA or the federal government. They have lived there for many many years, way before FEMA existed. The problem becomes that once FEMA is there, you would be an idiot to not take the money!!
Frankly, if FEMA ceased to exist, many many people who are staring at flooded houses would be fine. The problem is that once you have let the genie out off the bottle. You get people immediately feeling that
oh wow, they voted Obama in and did not get their reward of free stuff while walking out of the polling place. What a let down. Nothing like wanting to fill their pockets out of someone else's wallet. All government brides ( aide) comes for taking form someone who has earned it.

This mornings NY POST article describing property tax increases when they rebuild, 6% higher than before. Electric company (CON ED) can and will recoup Sandy damage costs by raising rates, one power plant alone conservatively estimated cost 100M. Transit Authority will raise monthly cards between 4 and 21$. The beat goes on.
No new jobs, Obama influenced layoffs to counter Obamacare fees. NY will continue the road to unsupportable deficits, and will start to react by cuts. 1st, retirees will pay (inceasing with time) for their health benefits, Enough producers will leave state, and parasites will remain.
