Warning! Don’t Install Firefox 13 If You Use Evernote Clipper.

Written by Gary North on June 6, 2012

I made the mistake of installing Firefox 13. After it was installed, I was informed that it is not compatible with Evernote Clipper.

The update killed Evernote Clipper. It’s gone.

For those of you who use Evernote Clipper every day to extract pages and store them in searchable format, Firefox 13 is a disaster.

For those of you who don’t use Evernote, you need to view this video. It was produced by a young man who received his accredited bachelor’s degree in the month he turned 18. His entire college cost him $13,000. He used my system, which I describe in my report, College for $15,000 (Or Less).

Here, he shows students how to raise their grades by using Evernote.

To view the entire series on how to use Evernote to store and retrieve research, photos, and just about everything else, click the link.

The sky is falling, the sky is falling! Oh, wait. Evernote is a couple of days behind in updating their Firefox Plugin. Nevermind.

(Web Clipper has never worked in FF's beta channel, and it usually takes them 3-7 days to catch up after full release.)

Good Luck! While I believe Firefox is still the best out there, they DO occasionally drop the ball. My Norton AV program was blocked (“not supported”) in V-10. I tried to find an earlier version, but apparently Mozilla wants only the “latest and greatest out there. My support appears to be back now. If there is enough outcry it will be back, but what bothers me is that this appears to delete EVERYTHING Evernote has done or saved. THAT is a scary price to pay for a new version. If it just didn’t support it for a while… but to lose it?

  4. "There's a '''Web Clipper Bookmarklet''' available on this page – http://evernote.com/webclipper/ – that should fill your needs until Evernote gets around to updating their Firefox extension.

Just drag that button into your bookmarks – sidebar, dropdown, or bookmarks toolbar – to save it."

  5. "The Beta version is available at the following and is "forward-compatible" with future Firefox Release/Beta/Aurora version:
*See post #12 in the link for information on download, save, install of the beta version.
*Read the entire (2 pages) posting for comments and question of users using the Beta version.
