It is nice to see that the pro-Democrat MoveOn organization feels on the defensive regarding the words “illegal aliens.” This phrase, which refers to aliens who are illegally inside the United States, is widely used correctly by millions of voters.
The Democrats prefer the phrase “undocumented workers.”
The illegal alien is breaking the law. To call him illegal is exactly right. He is also an undocumented worker. Yes, he is undocumented. Yes, he is a worker. But he is an illegal alien, which is why he is both undocumented and a worker.
Then there is his illegal relative, who is not a worker, but who is living in the same home. By law, his children are in the local schools. By law, he gets free medical case at the local hospital. He is an undocumented welfare recipient. The Democrats don’t like that phrase, either, for the same reason that they don’t like illegal alien: because it is accurate.
Politics is all about the use of language. MoveOn sense that it is losing the battle politically on this issue. The organization follows the strategy of Teddy Kennedy and LBJ in 1965. It approves of the immigration reform law of 1965. It sees that illegal aliens will have legal children who are U.S. citizens and who will vote for Democrats in 18 years. The strategy is all about votes 18 years down the road. This strategy has worked in California.
This is one reason why California is going bankrupt. If my saying this is a hate crime, make the best of it.
I was pleased to hear the voice of what sounds like n 18-year-old girl doing the narrative of the video. MoveOn does not understand that not only do words count in politics, so do voices. When you get a girl who sounds like she was not eligible to vote in 2010 to do the narration, you are out of touch with politics. When she is reading a script, not speaking from the heart, it’s even worse.
This is amateur night at MoveOn.
