The Obama Administration has come up with a great idea. It will have the Department of Agriculture give $5 million to construct a biogas anaerobic digester.
What, pray tell, is that? It’s a way to convert bovine droppings into heat. To heat what? An ethanol plant.
This will create 15 new jobs.
Think of it. Only $5 million to create 15 jobs. This is change we can believe in.
This was such a great deal that the private firm that will save lots of money by using the droppings thought the USDA should get all the credit for this great idea. So, the firm will let the USDA fund the project.
Is this patriotic or what?
It will replace 90% of the fossil fuels. This is green energy in action.
Well, maybe not green.
The USDA Secretary announced this: “Projects such as this are a key part of the Obama Administration’s all-of-the-above approach to American energy that is supporting the development and usage of renewable energy, revitalizing rural economies and creating an America built to last.” It is an example of how America can reduce its dependence on foreign oil.
Call it a blow against Peak Oil.
“Animal waste from a local feedlot will be the primary feedstock that Western Plains will use for the digester. Support for renewable energy projects such as these is an example of the many ways USDA is helping revitalize rural economies.”
Now, all they need to do is get another $5 million. And another. And another.
This is B.S. in action.
