Why “Eat the Rich” Is a One-Time-Only Feast

Written by Gary North on December 12, 2011

Michael Moore is the multimillionaire producer of anti-free market movies. He says there is plenty of money to run the U.S. government. Just tax the rich.

Mr. Moore would do well to read the report by Iowahawk on what this government is costing us, and how long the money would fund the government if it taxed the rich, and only the rich. Here is his summary on how to run the government on stolen wealth.

Let’s start the year out right by going after some evil corporations and their obscene profits. And who is more evil than those twin spawns of Lucifer himself, Exxon Mobil and Walmart? Together these two largest American industrial behemoths raked in, between them, $34 billion in 2010 global profits. Let’s teach ’em both a lesson and confiscate it for the public good. This will get us through…

Okay, maybe I underestimated our take. But we shouldn’t let Exxon and Walmart distract us from all those other corporate profiteers out there worth shaking down. In fact, why don’t we grab every cent of 2010 profit made by the other 498 members of the Fortune 500? That will net us another, let’s see, $357 billion! Enough to get us to…

So we’re running out of corporate cash, but look – it’s Super Bowl time! As we all know, the game has become a crass disgusting festival of commercialism. So let’s take all the TV ad money spent on stupid Super Bowl ads, and apply that to government needs. That would be $250 million, enough to fund us for, let’s see… 36 minutes. The half time show, at least. But why stop there? Let’s take every cent of ad money spent on all 45 Super Bowls, a cool $5 billion, which would cover us until…

Speaking of sports, why should the players be immune to our pressing public needs? Lord knows professional athletes make obscene salaries for playing a dumb game. So let’s take the combined salaries of all players in the NFL, Major League Baseball, the NBA, and the NHL. Hey, they’ve got endorsement deals, they’ll hardly miss it. Throw in the total winnings of everybody on the PGA tour and NASCAR, and we get $9.4 billion, enough to get us through until…

You get the idea. You can read the rest of the year by clicking the link, below.

Bill Whittle took this article and turned it into one of his memorable videos. I don’t know of anyone who gets across the Tea Party’s outlook better than Whittle. For the video, click here.

  1. The opinions of hypocrites and the evil ones are meaningless!

  2. What is terrifying to me are leaders like John Boehner and the rest of the so-called Republican leadership. They just can't seem to get out of their own way. They can't make a credible argument for why taxing the rich is not the answer to all of our problems. How about it is a disincentive to investment, or who in the hell wants to send more money to these idiots when they are still buying $500 screwdrivers and building tunnels for turtles to cross the road, or if they taxed the rich, that total amount would make almost no difference in our deficit anyway. No, they just stand there like idiots trying to explain to the "useful idiots" why taxing the rich is going to keep them from hiring people. If we let these geniuses run this campaign, Obama's got 4 more years to finish turning us into Russia.

  3. Here is what the TOO BIG TO FAIL are doing to Inject cash to themselves , How BOA can use the 2005 Bankruptcy Law to steal depositors money.

Is Corzine Hiding the fact of what happened to the MF Global Money with this Loophole ? Is this loop hole in the 2005 Bankruptcy and Consumer protection reform law helping Pelosi and Boehner make a killing off insider trading too like 60 minutes reported like when small banks fail their assets and cash accounts are swallowed up by the Too big to Fail banks that hold derivatives , and these 2 Big too Fail banks stock prices rise with this and so does Pelosi and Boehner or whoever else in Congress is positioning themselves in these trade with this Knowledge of how this 2005 Bankruptcy law works ? http://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=198650

  4. Great idea except for on problem. This is a one time deal. What happens in the future when people only decide to make up to $250,000 a year and then those EVIL corporations decide not to make any profits or heaven forbid move their operations overseas to places like Mexico and China. WAKE UP AMERICA!

  5. Ok Michael , fork over your share ! Oh, that's right , you're a fat slob who claims exemption as you are a Canadian . Well fat boy , go back there and stay out of American Politics . Its none of your business !

  6. More propaganda from the Tea Party.

  7. To the site admins reading this comment, Yeah figures, my comment must be approved by the site admins before it will appear publicly, sounds like the work of a good communist, controlling the media so any bad comments do not get past the censors to make an opinion heard.
