Part 1) I am going to tell everyone what I think is going on here. I read the bill, and I read what they are talking about and it says that they want terrorists to be tried in military tribunals, not American civilian courts. It also goes on to say that the bill does NOT expand the powers of the president or the military. There is also very specific language in the bill that states that this does not extend to citizens of the U.S. or people who are legal residents of the U.S. The military has ALWAYS held prisoners of war until the end of the war and then repatriated them to their home country.
Part 2) The only difference is, in the past we have always fought against state militaries, now they are trying to word it to included terrorists who may or may not be members of a military but still fighting against the U.S. That is ALL this bill is about, making sure that the Obama administration does not bring terrorists into the U.S. for civilian trial and take a chance of releasing them into our system. The Liberals (I feel) are stirring this up because if they can stop this, they will stop the over 600 billion dollars of funding that would otherwise go to the military. There is absolutely no threat to American Citizens in this bill. This is ALL HYPE !!!!!!!!! NONE of these people have EVER read aloud the specific language in the bill describing what they are talking about because it doesn't exist !!!

I am very surprised to see this article in a newsletter purporting to be with the "Tea Party". The person in this video, Laura Pitter, commented in an interview that the Bush admin should be charged for torture. The amendment to the section she is commenting about "1032" is written by Mark Udall, who is a democrat. To be fair, Rand Paul has also stood against the section and written an amendment. The section primarily deals with the fact that President Obama likes to try Foreign Enemy Combatants with the same rights as American Citizens. The section takes that power away from the President and puts it in the hands of the military, where enemy combatants should be handled.
While it IS scary that this bill can be used to imprison the American Conservative when they do not agree with the United States Emperor, it is the Emperor himself who has caused it to be written.
So…. What to do about it? There is nothing we, as American Citizens, can do about it. The ruling elite, both Left and Right, have backed us into a corner with the rook on the right and the bishop on the right and the queen holding us in Check. We have 2 choices: Allow Mr. Obama to continue to give out enemies the same legal rights due to American Citizens, or give Emperor Obama the power to imprison his political enemies indefinitely.
